Are there equivalences to eduQua?
No. Institutions, which have already adopted a different quality management system and its according certificate, do not automatically receive the eduQua certificate.
Is it possible to certify only one course or offer?
EduQua is principally a certificate for institutions, not for courses or people.
Each institution is a separate certification unit. With the big institutions, it may be possible, in very concrete cases, to certify single departments.
In which cantons are is eduQua a requirement for subventions?
The cantons decide whether the institutions are required to have an eduQua label before receiving subventions. The cantons where the label is a requirement are as follows: Aargau, Bern, Basel-Stadt (labour market measures), Geneva, Lucerne, Ticino, Waadt, Wallis, Zug and Zurich. The Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education advises the cantons to check "quality of the providers within the education area in whole Switzerland in the future according to the same criteria and to make national subsidies dependent on a proof of quality (eduQua)".
Are certification authorities able to advise institutions?
No, the certification authorities may only give information on the procedure. The eduQua office is able to give out consulting agencies addresses. |
